Dit boek is een levend wezen. Het laat zich niet vangen in één taal en past niet in de kaders van een standaardverhaal. Net als de ziel zelf, volgt het geen rechte lijn van A naar B, maar beweegt het in cirkels en spiralen.
Terwijl je door Book of Shadows reist, zul je merken dat er vier stromen door elkaar vloeien: de beelden (collages), de poëzie, het proza en de titels. Zie deze niet als losse fragmenten, maar als draden in een mythisch weefwerk. De symbolen die je tegenkomt vormen de lijm die het verleden, het heden en het tijdloze aan elkaar verbindt. Ze nodigen je uit om te springen in de tijd, om terug te bladeren en opnieuw te kijken.
Een Sjamanistische Reis
Aan de oppervlakte lees je de rauwe worsteling van een mens met trauma en herinnering. Maar wie dieper kijkt, ziet dat dit gevecht in werkelijkheid een sjamanistische reis is. Een afdaling in de onderwereld van de eigen psyche.
