De Kleine Vijver / The Little Pond
Het Book of Shadows is me te dierbaar om als massaproduct te presenteren. Daarom open ik de deur alleen voor wie zich echt kenbaar maakt.

De Kleine Vijver
Hoe rijk kan een kleine vijver zijn?
Dat hangt ervan af, zei de Bard.
Als je een otter bent,
een reiger of een snoek.
In dat geval kun je je maag vullen,
kinderen grootbrengen en een rijk leven leiden.
Waarschijnlijk alle drie.
Aan de andere kant,
als je op zoek bent naar de massa van Iglo,
Dan is het waarschijnlijk de moeite niet waard.
Toen dit tot me doordrong,
besefte ik dat ik geen hordes vreemden nodig heb
In mijn Sacred Grove, daar waar mijn vijver ligt.
Daarom heb ik besloten de deur naar
Het Book of Shadows gesloten te houden voor de menigte.
Het is mij zo dierbaar dat ik het alleen zal onthullen aan de 'Inner Circle'.
Dat betekent niet dat het onbereikbaar is!
Klop op de deur en maak jezelf bekend,
dan geef ik je toegang tot mijn wereld.
We kunnen bij de vijver zitten. Ik zal je laten zien hoe je bellen blaast
en kleine rimpelingen maakt. Ik wijs je de otter
of de libel aan. We nippen van de wijn en
praten eindeloos over de seizoenen, totdat
de maan en de sterren ons weer naar huis gidsen.
Stel jezelf simpelweg even voor.
The Little Pond
How rich can a small pond be?
That depends, said the Bard.
If you're an otter,
a heron or a pike.
In that case, you can fill your stomach,
raise children and have a rich life.
Probably all three of you.
On the other hand,
If you're prospecting for Iglo,
It's probably not worthwhile.
When this sank in,
I realised I don't need hordes of strangers
In my Sacred Grove, where my pond is.
So I decided I would keep the door to
the Book of Shadows closed to the crowd.
It is so precious to me that I'll only reveal it
to the Inner Circle.
That doesn't mean it's out of reach!
Knock on the door and make yourself known,
I will give you access to my world.
We can sit at the pond,
I'll show you how to make bubbles
and little waves, I'll show you the otter
or the dragonfly. We'll sip wine and
talk endlessly about the seasons until
the moon and stars guide us home again.
